Early Morning Dance Party
Saturday morning Bo was up much earlier than normal. We tried very hard to hold him off on getting up by putting him in bed with us, but no such luck. Ever notice how toddlers wake up FULL force and ready to start the day? No need for a "waking up period" or "let me have my milk first"...none of that like Jarrod and I require although mine is much needed coffee and lots of it!
We had come down to the basement and I turned on some of the tunes he likes on the computer and grabbed the camera. He LOVES to dance and his new thing (picked up from watching Jarrod and I dance) is to open his mouth and smile. We are always laughing or making funny expressions while dancing with him and sure enough he copied us!

Visitors
This past Monday my best friend, Robin made a stop in Atlanta to visit us for two nights. So we had a house full of kiddos...Bo, Clare, Colin, and Connor. Anyone who knows me knows that Robin's kids are practically my kids. I was so excited to see them since I haven't seen the kids in about 2 years or Robin since Bo was born. Bo definitely loved having kids to play with, he's just so social!
Dinner time!
Trying to figure out the crazy sprinkler I bought him!

Father's Day
Jarrod had a great Father's Day weekend...we started early! Friday night when he got home Bo and I gave him his gift. I get so excited when I give gifts so I can never wait! Also I knew he'd want to hang it over the weekend. If true love comes in forms of gifts this is it...I bought Jarrod a wall mounted Univ of TN helmet that is about 4 ft wide and tall!! I have no idea what I was thinking except for that he could put it down in his "man cave" i.e. the basement! Also, if you know Jarrod at all you know he's a HUGE Cubs fan!! I've had to endure many, many Cubs games since we met! I wanted to give him something special and unique, so I found cuff links that are made out of old stadium seats. They take the old wooden seats and using sterling silver make beautiful cuff links. I think this was his favorite gift!
Saturday we went to the neighborhood pool, then off to my Aunt Amy and Uncle David's house to have a Father's Day cookout for the dads! We had a great time and so did Bo. He's always the hit of the party. Sunday we didn't do much. I made a nice breakfast for Jarrod and then we just spent time around the house (which we never get to do). We also played outside with Bo and cooked out last night. It was a great weekend!
Bo & I also made "homemade" wrapping paper!

Redneck Water Table
Thanks Amanda for the title ;)! So it's been extremely hot this week as just about everyone reading this knows! I'm so eager to take Bo to the neighborhood pool, but we still have painters here working in the kitchen so we can't leave! We are both going crazy being cooped up inside the house, but it's so hot you don't want to go out either. So we decided to create our own version of a water table! He had a blast splashing around, especially when he got mommy wet, which was quite refreshing!

Playroom!
This past weekend Jarrod and I worked very hard on getting Bo's playroom ready. He loves being in there...as soon as we go upstairs he runs right to it, so I wanted to make it a cute, fun room. It was really fun to do and it's one of those rooms you can get away with doing anything. Too bad all of our rooms can't be this fun! Oh, and it NEVER looks like this, it ususally looks like a massacre of the toys. Amazing what a 17 month old boy can do in about 2 seconds!

Waiting...
Lately we've had a lot of workers at our house...installing new lights in the kitchen, making repairs that needed to be made, working on the front steps, and today stripping wallpaper and painting the kitchen. With all of these different people at the house Bo and I usually retreat to the basement, otherwise he thinks he's their helper! We can't really leave, I'm just not comfortable leaving our house open with contractors. If it's nice we go outside, but today has been too hot!! We are so ready to be done with all of this work. I'm complaining as if I'm the one doing the work, but I'm ready to get settled and everything be done!
So here are some pics of Bo after his nap...goldfish & Sesame Street

Popsicles!
So this afternoon at 3:00pm Bo and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. I have NO idea what I was thinking going during mid-afternoon. I clearly have forgotten what it's like to have humidity!! Normally we'll go in the mornings, but this week we have been so busy running errands just about every day, all morning we haven't had time. Trying to get the house situated requires a lot of running here, there, and everywhere.
So, I had planned on going later this afternoon, but when I looked out the window I could tell rain was coming and I didn't want to get caught in a downpour with a baby in a stroller. When we got home we were SO hot so I decided to break out the popsicles. I absolutely LOVE the Edys no sugar added popsicles, they are delicious!!! Even Jarrod likes them! Bo had never had one of these, so he wasn't exactly sure what to do with it, but he eventually caught on.
Hmmm, what's this?
"Wonder if I'm supposed to chew on this part?"
"um, I'm not getting this mom"
This is more like it!
Think I got it!
Bathtime!!!

Recipe to Follow
A Great Recipe for a peace-filled life
1. Take a 10 to 30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It
is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about
what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,
'My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for______________'
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that
is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild
Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues
of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead
invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a
college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument.
Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years,
will this matter?'
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD heals everything - but you have to ask Him.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends
will stay in touch.
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:
I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.
24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings.
You'll be smiling before you know it.

Daddy's future Indiana Hoosier
So this weekend we bought Bo his very first basketball goal. I must say, he caught on very quickly! Daddy showed him once and that was all it took. *Make sure to turn off the music at the bottom of the page.
