Last night was Bo’s very first Christmas program! He did SO good!!!!! He was front and center and there were times you could hear him over everyone haha!! They sang about 5 songs I think and recited “For unto us a child is born.” Isaiah 9:6!! He sang with all of his little heart. After the program we passed the music teacher in the hallway and she said “I was counting on him tonight, he’s the loudest 2 yr I have.” Of course we weren’t surprised by this at all, since we hear him “rehearsing” all the time!! I still can’t believe my baby is old enough to be in a school Christmas program!! Jarrod was able to take a few pictures, while I was trying to video. I will try to get some video uploaded soon.

Bo’s Christmas Party
So today was Bo’s class Christmas party. I was in charge of planning it and it really was a lot of fun. I had to come up with lunch, a craft, and a story. So we read a book called “J is for Jesus” it tells the history and meaning of the candy cane, it’s a great version for little ones! So of course following that we had to make a candy cane for their craft. I cut the candy cane out of cereal boxes and had them glue red and white pom pom balls on each one, super easy and fast!! Lunch consisted of pizza, juice boxes and grapes and for dessert they had mini cupcakes. The kids had a blast and I think Bo really liked having mommy there, he stayed really close. I soaked it up because I know that won’t last long! After lunch we attempted to get a class picture since they were all wearing the hand painted shirt that they had made and Ms. Jenell and Ms. Karen gave each of the kids a Christmas gift. Tomorrow is his very first Christmas program at school and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am!! Jarrod and I have been listening to Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas for weeks now. I even had one of the other two year old teachers tell me one day that Bo made her smile every day in music because he sings with all his heart! Doesn’t surprise me at all because he has always loved music and is definitely a little ham!!! It should be cute, hopefully we’ll be able to get a good seat and can get some good pictures and video!
Lydia and Bo…other than James this is his FAVORITE person to play with at school…can you blame him? Isn’t she a doll!
Getting his Christmas gift from Ms. Jenell

Christmas Happenings
Christmas is going by way too fast this year!!! Part of it I think is because Bo and I will be leaving for MS this Sunday. Jarrod has to work and I want to go over early to spend some time at home, so he will be joining us on Thursday. Here are a few pictures of what we’ve been doing lately!
A few weekends ago we took Bo to this drive through display. He loved it. It was about 6 miles long and all of the lights were set to music. They had you tune your radio to a particular radio station that had all of the music. It really was neat, but Bo’s favorite part was after the lights. They had Santa’s village set up with all sorts of activities, but the one thing he loved the most was the train! It was too cold for me so daddy hopped on and they rode around for the longest time on this train!!
This past weekend we had Jarrod’s work Christmas party, which I must say…most of these things in the past I have always dreaded, but I actually enjoy his Christmas party here. He works with some really great people, who are always fun to talk to. Bo stayed with Aunt Amy and Uncle David. He had a blast, as always!!! They made cookies Saturday night and I heard he even got some snuggle time with Aunt Amy because he wouldn’t go to sleep :)!!!
Friday afternoon Bo and I made our first gingerbread house! Mr. Independent wanted to do it ALL on his own…icing and all!! I tried to help as much as I could, but for the most part he didn’t want me touching it! It was fun, but at the end the kitchen was covered from floor to ceiling in icing…oh well it all cleans up! Then Sunday afternoon Bo helped me with our traditional Christmas cookies. It’s just not Christmas in our house without these cookies. My mom made them growing up and I hope one day Bo will remember me making them. He LOVES to help, with anything and everything, but especially cooking!!

Jarrod and Casey +2!!!
Yep, you read it right…we are expecting #2!!! We are super excited, I am due June 3rd! I hit the 14 week mark this past Friday, which officially puts me now in my second trimester. Which I’m hoping really, really hard means I will begin to feel better. While the past two months have been hard, they weren’t near as bad as they were with Bo. With Bo I was more violently sick, not able to keep anything down, where this time it has been a more constant nausea with it’s peak around 4:00pm every day. Which I must say, makes for a very hard evening with a wild little boy and a husband who usually doesn’t get home til 7:30 sometimes 8:00pm or he’s out of town!!
We have had a lot of people ask about the possibility of a repeat of preeclampsia. We thought and prayed long and hard about having a second baby due to this. For those who may not know, I spent the last month of my pregnancy with Bo in the hospital due to preeclampsia and they finally took him at 37 weeks. We talked a lot with my doctor about her thoughts and her answer, like many others, is there is no way to predict if it will happen again. Yes, I do have a higher chance of a repeat, since I have had it once, but it doesn’t guarantee it will happen again. I am considered high risk so the doctors will keep a very close eye on me. They have already started doing some testing such as a 24 hr urine test to get a base of my protein levels. Luckily I know what to look for and what symptoms to be aware of. I am really monitoring my weight gain and my salt intake, which doesn’t really promise to help at all, but it can’t hurt. I absolutely love my doctor and all of the doctors in the practice. Dr. Arona is known as a high risk obgyn. When you are high risk the doctors will all meet and discuss your case in order to develop a game plan if something were to happen. I really like this, because with Bo there were so many doctors in the practice and they all had their different opinions, theories, means of treatment, etc…So in the beginning every time I was sent to the hospital to be monitored you never knew what was going to go on! So we ask for everyone to please say a prayer for a healthy pregnancy and baby!!
Others have asked about Bo…does he get it? Answer-No and he doesn’t really like to talk about it, maybe that means he gets it more than we give him credit for. He used to love babies but now if you ask him if he’s going to have a new baby he says “no”! When he sees the ultrasound he calls it a frog and when you ask if a baby is in mommy’s baby he says “no baby, a frog ribbit, ribbit”!! So, the next few months we may have to work on him a little.
It’s funny how having one already keeps you so busy you kind of forget your pregnant! The only thing that reminds me is feeling bad. With Bo I could have told you every week how big he was…size of a grape, a lemon, a kumquat (whatever a kumquat is), etc…this time I’m like, poor baby…I don’t know if it even has hands yet!! The first time around too, you are so excited to get your first maternity clothes, this time…I’m stretching my regular clothes as long as I can because I know once you hit maternity, there’s no turning back you’re just going to get BIGGER!!!!! I will say it’s getting very close to time to hit the maternity store, but again very different than Bo…with him I think I was in maternity by like 10 weeks!!!
So all in all, things are going well. I’m just hoping to start getting some energy back and be done with the morning sickness. I know my child would love for me to actually pay him some attention. And I know my husband would love to have something for dinner other than “whatever you can find in the fridge”! I will say that plain pizza has been one thing that I have been able to eat. It’s really sad though, because a few weeks ago the UPS guy dropped something off at the house and rang the doorbell and Bo went running to the door shouting “pizza, pizza here”!!! That can’t be good!!

O Holy Night
So my all time favorite Christmas song, like many, is O Holy Night. This morning at church my favorite worship team member was there, and while I was hoping for a solo we weren’t so lucky. However, it reminded me of his performance last Christmas of O Holy Night. This guy can rock it!!!

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving as I’m hoping you all did! We went to Greenville, SC to visit Jarrod’s family. We had a great time seeing everyone, but I must say the “hit” in Bo’s eyes was his cousin Lily! He loves Josie too, but Josie is a little younger and doesn’t quite understand why Bo can’t play with her like other friends her age. Although, her mom says that she thinks as soon as he turns 3, he’ll get it…he’ll understand things, speak better, and mind haha! Hmmm, that’s a lot of pressure on January! The kids had a blast playing and it was so nice to be able to send them in the next room to play and not have to worry too much…I’m trying to work out a deal where Lily come and stays with us for a weekend or so! It was also great getting to spend time with Jarrod’s parents, sister and brother in law. We also got our first trip to downtown Greenville, which I must say I was most impressed! It’s adorable and seems like a fabulous place to raise a family.
The only negative to Thanksgiving this year is I came home with a horrible stomach virus that started Sunday night. After talking with Kim it turns out Josie was hit on Sunday night as well. Jarrod never actually got sick, but had constant nausea for about a day. I was wiped out, but finally starting to feel better. So far Bo has gotten away untouched, I just hope it stays that way! If everyone is well then we will head out for our Christmas tree Saturday. We definitely have a very busy December planned, but all fun things! Just trying not to do too much and remember what the season is all about!
playing with Lily’s remote control car…she was very patient because all he did was run it into the walls!
He followed Lily everywhere and did everything she did!
At the festival of trees, downtown Greenville! Bo had a blast and he also thought the ornaments were balls and decided to throw a few across the rooms!!
only my family will understand this picture…somewhere we have a picture of my brother, probably about the same age at
my great-grandmother’s birthday and he’s digging in the nut bowl. The pictures are identical, hoping my mom found the picture!
Decorating cookies with cousins (mom & dad…note the flashlight next to him)!
he really just wanted to eat them!
