Happy Anniversary

Three years ago today I married the most amazing man that God could have ever given me.  Every day I wonder what I did to deserve him.  What a wild and crazy three years it's been, but I can't imagine having done it without Jarrod by my side.  He is my rock, my best friend, my biggest supporter, an amazing father, and wonderful husband.  He makes me laugh ALL the time, which I love!  He knows me inside and out...he knows what I'm thinking sometimes even before I do.  He makes me crazy, but I can assure you I make him even more nuts.  We are so good together...God definitely knew what kind of person I needed.  In some ways we are just alike and in others we are polar opposties!  We are such a good balance to each other.  I love you so much honey...here's to many, many more years! Happy Anniversary!

Boys and Bugs

So Sunday afternoon Jarrod and I were outside playing with Bo.  He had been playing in the leaves under our big tree in the front yard. All of the sudden he was looking at the tree and say "ooooo, ooooo, ooooo" which is what he does when he sees something he's interested in.  We walked over and saw a really big, weird looking bug...we still aren't sure what it was but Bo was fascinated with it!  At least he's too young to want to bring it inside!! Guess boys will be boys!

Full of energy

So Sunday morning Bo woke up super early...by 9:00am we had watched cartoons, had breakfast, played inside, played outside, and had coloring time!  Even though is was quite chilly he wanted to play outside so bad.  Our decks are covered with leaves, which he loves so despite the cold temps we put his coat on over his pjs and let him play on the upper deck, which is right off of our family room so we could leave the door open and still stay inside where it was warm!

Later that morning we went to church.  After he came home and took a great nap, but still woke up ready to play!  There is only so much "inside" play that this little guy can do...he wants to be outside ALL the time.  It had warmed up by the afternoon so I thought he'd have fun painting.  I rolled out some butcher paper and grabbed his paints.  Just like I thought he loved it and did not want to come inside.  It was quite a sight seeing me get him up two flights of stairs and into the bath without getting paint everywhere!

Happy Birthday Sesame Street!

As someone who grew up on this show and is now raising my child with it as well, I felt the need to give a birthday shout out to Sesame Street.  The very first episode of Sesame Street ran on November 10, 1969.  I had to laugh this morning when Jarrod realized he was a month older than Sesame Street.  The amazing thing is that after 40 years, Big Bird has only gone from age 4 to age 6, maybe we need to learn his secrets!

Everyone I know grew up on Sesame Street.  I remember my brother having this large stuffed Cookie Monster doll and I had a plastic Big Bird chair (which my parents still have, and Bo has already gotten use out of when visiting Pop and Bebe).  Not only do kids learn their letters, shapes, words, and numbers, but they also learn lessons on friendship, to do deal with the hard challenges of childhood like insults, being fair, and their feelings..."happy, sad, grouchy, and glad"!  I also love how they learn about different ethnicities, languages, traditions, all walks of life...teaching kids how very similar we all really are.

Here's to 40 years of fun for all ages!!  Happy Birthday Sesame Street!

Ready, Set, Go!!!

One of Bo's new favorite games is "Ready, Set, Go" and then he will run with you or to you. He especially loves to run down the big hill in our front yard!

Happy Halloween!

As many of you already know the Lawson family has been very much under the weather.  However...the troops rallied and made it out long enough to take Bo trick or treating to at least a few homes last night.  He had a blast!!!  Of course he didn't understand the candy part, nor will he actually get to eat the candy, but he absolutely loved going to the different houses and being "adorable" for everyone.  We live in an older neighborhood so most of the kids are middle school age which means LOTS of scary costumes (which I hate) so I think it was very refreshing for the neighbors to see a cute little monkey come knocking on the door!

He did not want to come home.  As soon as he saw our house he laid down in the middle of the street, we had pick him up and carry him inside.  After a little while of crying he perked right up as soon as the doorbell rang and it was time to hand out candy!  He loved having people come to the door.

He also loved carrying around his Halloween can!  It's so much cuter than a plastic pumpkin don't you think?  The mother of a friend of mine back home makes these so Pop and Bebe sent this to Bo isn't it just adorable!!!

Am I cute or what?

Getting ready to go!

He LOVED Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin!

Time to go home!

not very happy about that!

he found the bucket of candy we were handing out!
