Great Weather

So we went from snow one weekend to temps in the 60’s the next…no wonder we’re all sick!  It was great though to get out and enjoy some outside time!

Valentine’s Snow Weekend!

Well much to my surprise we actually did get snow on Friday afternoon.  It all started around 1:00 as we witnessed the first few flurries on our way home from our Friday morning play date.  I thought we might get a dusting and be done with it, but to my surprise we actually got around 4 inches.  Bo woke up from his nap and was dying to get outside.  So we bundled up and headed out to play with the neighborhood kids, while we waited for Daddy to get home.  He had so much fun and there was even some left on Saturday morning for us to all play in.

With it being Valentine’s weekend, I got up Saturday morning and made a “Valentine’s” breakfast.  Bo loved his pancakes but he really loved the chocolate and suckers, which yes we did let him have after he finished breakfast.  Saturday night Jarrod and I actually had a date night.  My Aunt Amy and Uncle David offered to keep Bo so we could go out to dinner, alone.  You forget what it’s like not to have to throw down your food in 10 minutes in fear of a possible meltdown in the middle of a restaurant!!!  It was a great break and much, much needed!  All in all it was a fun weekend!

My Heart Stopper!

Today Bo had his Valentine’s Exchange at school so I decided to make cookies for him to give to his little friends.  I saw this idea and thought it was too cute to pass up.  First of all I finally found a recipe for homemade sugar cookies, the good ones…not too sweet, soft & chewy, a lot like you would find at a bakery.  Anyway, along with that recipe I also found an icing recipe…the kind that dries hard and shiny!  It was a little trial and error trying to get the icing to the consistency that worked best, but for my first time I thought they turned out kind of cute!  I used fondant cutters instead of cookie cutters, because they were much smaller and I did “X” and “O” cookies.  They are the perfect size for these little guys!

Still a Family!

Well I’m happy to report that Jarrod, Bo, and I are still one big happy family, even after the amazing WIN by the SAINTS!!!!  We had so much fun at my uncle Sam’s house…family, friends, tons of food, a theater room to watch the game, and a BIG WIN!!!!  Bo had so much playing with cousin Parker.  Parker decided to call it a night around 7:30, but not Bo…NOPE he was awake the entire game!  He even celebrated with us after the game with his very first piece of King Cake YUMMMM!

It's Game Time

So things are getting interesting at 275 Trowbridge Lane!   Mommy & Bo vs Daddy!!!  Tonight we are headed to my aunt and uncle's house for Super Bowl Party.  I'm bringing dessert so I thought I'd share what I made this morning...
Jarrod wasn't exactly thrilled with my choice of designs.  I HAD to have something representing the Saints so I found a picture of a fleur de lis on the internet, cut it out to make a stencil and filled with the candy!  Yummy!  Can't wait for the game or the dessert!

Friday with Friends

Last Friday my good friend, Kathy, was in a bind and needed a last minute sitter for her kiddos.  So Friday afternoon it was me vs 3 two yr old boys, and 1 four year old little girl..at least I knew she was on my side.  Bo had a blast having his buddies here to play with.  They were here about 3 1/2 hrs and it was totally fine, the only one who had his moments was Bo, go figure!

Dinner Time!

I’m a good sport

To show that I’m a good sport and really do love my husband I dressed Bo in his Colts shirt today for school.  It was hard, but I knew I needed to be a good sport about it.  Plus he’ll be in his SAINTS jersey on Sunday so I had to give daddy a little love!
