2 months

IMG_6783

Yes, you read that right, my sweet baby girl turned 2 months old this past Tuesday.  Jarrod and I have a disagreement on the actual date…he says 8 weeks is two months old, I say the 19th is when she turns two months!  What do you consider two months?  I explained to him he doesn’t get another year older at 52 weeks, it’s always on the actual day he was born!  It is going by so fast so I have no desire to rush it, have a feeling I’ll say that every month, then she’ll hit 2 and it will feel like time is ticking by haha!  It’s so nice to have a “normal” baby!  I say that because Bo had such horrible colic and reflux…he basically screamed his head off morning, noon, and night til he was 5 months old!  We didn’t realize just how bad we had it til we had a calm baby!!

We went for her checkup this past Tuesday where she got a great report!  She’s growing like a champ…looks like she’s taking after daddy, her height is off the charts!  She measured 2 inches taller then Bo did at 2 months I was blown away!!

Weight: 11 lbs 6 oz- 50th percentile

Height: 24 in-95th percentile

She is still sleeping most of the day, which is fine with me, makes it easier to handle Bo.  She also sleeps pretty good at night.  We have our bad nights here and there, but she will usually take one last bottle anywhere from 9:30-11:30 and sleep to anywhere from 6am-8am, praise Jesus!!! She has her “fussy time” during the day usually around 2:00pm, but overall she’s a very happy baby.  She really only cries when she’s dirty or hungry.  Lately she’s been very gassy so that leads to some crying as well.

Poor thing is covered in baby acne, Bo had it too.  Really hoping it passes soon, hers seems to be hanging around longer than Bo’s did.  If anyone has any secrets to treat it I’d love to hear them!

I am still dealing with thrush, even after 3 consecutive weeks of meds, creams, sterilizing, etc…it really started to take a lot out of me so we are slowly transitioning her over to formula.  She is still dealing with pretty bad reflux so the formula has actually helped some, she keeps more of it down than she was the breastmilk.  I was really sad to transition her, but I was worn out trying to do it all.  One night I was talking with Jarrod and explained that these days are going by so fast and it’s more important to me to enjoy this time with her and Bo and not be stressed out over sterilizing every single thing that I touch or washing clothes, or switching out her pacifiers all day long.  I don’t want to look back at her first few months and have that as my memory.  So when I started looking at it like that I realized it was time to move on and enjoy this time with my kids!  Life with two is wonderful..challenging, but absolutely wonderful.  We are so blessed with two amazing, beautiful children!

Playing around the other day…

Day trip to Greenville

Last Saturday we decided to take a day trip to Greenville to see family.  Bo was so excited to see cousins Lily and Josie.  Poor girls got pulled to play trains I think the entire time we were there.  We had a great visit, it’s always nice to be able to make a day trip to see family.  The girls also loved holding Baby Charlee, I see great babysitters in the near future! I don’t have many pictures, it wasn’t until the end I remembered I had my camera in the diaper bag.  That’s what no sleep will do for you!  Aunt Kim took a lot of pictures so I know there are a lot of great ones.

Soccer

This past Saturday was Bo’s second time at soccer, he missed the week before due to being sick.  He absolutely loves it, he gets so excited and is constantly asking when he’s going back.  It’s so good for him, have a feeling this will be a year round sport for him!

Bo

Bo has really turned into a wonderful big brother.  He loves to help with everything including teaching Charlotte very important things such as the sounds that cars make and which hot wheels go the best on the track!  He’s such a good big brother, he even “fixes” her bouncy seat when he thinks it needs more batteries!

4th of July

The weekend of 4th of July, my brother, sister in law, and precious niece came to meet Baby Charlotte.  We were so excited to have them come for a visit, we hadn’t seen them since Christmas, so we were really excited!  Last time we saw Vivienne she was two months old, she is now 8…huge difference!!!  She is an absolute doll!!!  Bo loved playing with her, he loved to show her all of his toys and even shared his “night night” (his blanket).  We spent the 4th at my Aunt Amy and Uncle David’s house and had a blast!  Lots of good food and time with family, it doesn’t get any better!

Whew…

Wow we have been super busy this month!  Who knew we’d have such a busy summer, it’s good I guess, the faster it goes the sooner cooler temps get here haha!  We’ve been busy with swim lessons, summer camp, family visits, soccer, Bo being sick, 4th of July, tons of thank you notes to write, announcements to get out, and just the every day keeping up with the house, laundry, and spending time with my kids!  And I am now about to add to it by driving 7 hours to MS by myself with a 3.5 yr old and 8 week old…I think I have completely lost my mind, but you gotta start sometime, might as well jump in with both feet!  We will have lots of snacks, games, movies, etc…prayers will be greatly appreciated haha! Hoping my mom & dad will have a nice cold bottle of wine when I get there (hint, hint)!!  Here’s a look into the past month (I will probably have to do a few different posts to get it all up here)!

SWIM LESSONS…Bo did great!!  The only thing he didn’t like was going underwater.  He loved being in the pool and he especially loved Miss Kaitlin, his instructor.  She was so good with him, we will definitely do more lessons with her.
