2 months

IMG_6783

Yes, you read that right, my sweet baby girl turned 2 months old this past Tuesday.  Jarrod and I have a disagreement on the actual date…he says 8 weeks is two months old, I say the 19th is when she turns two months!  What do you consider two months?  I explained to him he doesn’t get another year older at 52 weeks, it’s always on the actual day he was born!  It is going by so fast so I have no desire to rush it, have a feeling I’ll say that every month, then she’ll hit 2 and it will feel like time is ticking by haha!  It’s so nice to have a “normal” baby!  I say that because Bo had such horrible colic and reflux…he basically screamed his head off morning, noon, and night til he was 5 months old!  We didn’t realize just how bad we had it til we had a calm baby!!

We went for her checkup this past Tuesday where she got a great report!  She’s growing like a champ…looks like she’s taking after daddy, her height is off the charts!  She measured 2 inches taller then Bo did at 2 months I was blown away!!

Weight: 11 lbs 6 oz- 50th percentile

Height: 24 in-95th percentile

She is still sleeping most of the day, which is fine with me, makes it easier to handle Bo.  She also sleeps pretty good at night.  We have our bad nights here and there, but she will usually take one last bottle anywhere from 9:30-11:30 and sleep to anywhere from 6am-8am, praise Jesus!!! She has her “fussy time” during the day usually around 2:00pm, but overall she’s a very happy baby.  She really only cries when she’s dirty or hungry.  Lately she’s been very gassy so that leads to some crying as well.

Poor thing is covered in baby acne, Bo had it too.  Really hoping it passes soon, hers seems to be hanging around longer than Bo’s did.  If anyone has any secrets to treat it I’d love to hear them!

I am still dealing with thrush, even after 3 consecutive weeks of meds, creams, sterilizing, etc…it really started to take a lot out of me so we are slowly transitioning her over to formula.  She is still dealing with pretty bad reflux so the formula has actually helped some, she keeps more of it down than she was the breastmilk.  I was really sad to transition her, but I was worn out trying to do it all.  One night I was talking with Jarrod and explained that these days are going by so fast and it’s more important to me to enjoy this time with her and Bo and not be stressed out over sterilizing every single thing that I touch or washing clothes, or switching out her pacifiers all day long.  I don’t want to look back at her first few months and have that as my memory.  So when I started looking at it like that I realized it was time to move on and enjoy this time with my kids!  Life with two is wonderful..challenging, but absolutely wonderful.  We are so blessed with two amazing, beautiful children!

Playing around the other day…
