Lots going on

Wow!  It’s been so long since my last post!!  I feel terrible, because there are so many things I want to document, because I’m using this as a blog but I also want to have this printed into a book (there are places that do that for you).  I love it because the kids baby books only have the typical “monthly update” which hardly covers anything.  I say kids…I still haven’t ordered Charlotte’s…bad mommy!!!  I have finally started my journal to Charlotte, okay well maybe I haven’t actually started it, but I did buy it the other day and it’s sitting on my nightstand…it only took 4 months!

We have just had so much going on.  This year I am again on the steering committee for MOPS, which I am so excited about, but it’s always crazy busy before the year begins trying to get everything ready, so that has taken a lot of my time.  A pretty serious situation has been with my sweet father in law.  A month ago he had his bladder removed due to bladder cancer and has suffered some pretty serious complications.  He has been in the hospital for the past month…some of it was in Greenville, he’s been moved back to Atlanta where his original surgery was done, and we are praying in the next few days he’ll be discharged for good.  The man has been through complete hell (sorry there’s just no way to put it nicely).  He wasn’t able to eat for about 3 1/2 weeks…NOTHING, no liquids, nothing to drink, and certainly nothing to eat.  He was in ICU for a few days, moved via ambulance back to Atlanta, found a pulmonary embolism, another blood clot in his leg, again he’s just been through hell.  BUT…as of this morning it looks like he has turned the corner and will be able to go home in the next few days!  Thank you to all of our friends and family for all of your prayers, I know Lee appreciates them!

We have also been back and forth to doctors for Charlotte.  We think she has a possible milk allergy.  We had a skin test done last week, but for some reason her skin didn’t react the way it should have so we now have to go have blood work testing done.  We are now on Alimentum formula which must be made of gold because it cost a small fortune!!!!  She doesn’t seem to break out as often on it, so at least it helps.  We do however, now own an Epipen, just in case!!  If you haven’t seen one of these things it looks like something you’d inject into a grown man.  Praying we never have to use it, but it does make me feel better to know I have it if we need it.

The best news is that Bo has started school…WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!  I can’t believe my baby is in 3 year preschool, where or where has the time gone??  I wish I could report that he’s doing great, but we are still struggling a little with separation anxiety!  He is still worried about me leaving him.  On the first day of school he was talking about going to see me and baby Charlotte at the hospital.  I think since the last few weeks of school last year I was on bedrest and then she was born the day before his last day of school that he associates school with mommy and daddy being gone.  The first few days he cried when I’d drop him off.  Wednesday of this week he was fighting back tears, I mean you could really see him struggling not to cry, but he didn’t and he went in and had a great time.  He does fine once he gets in there so I think it’ll just take a little while longer for him to truly trust that mommy comes to get him each time.  Here are some pictures from the past few weeks!

I thought this was really sweet…Jarrod had been outside working most of the morning with his “helper” and it was time for lunch so I asked if they wanted to eat outside and have a picnic.  I made them lunch and took it down and I just had to smile when I looked out the window and saw this…it just makes my heart smile.
