Week of Doctors

By the end of this week our little man will have spent days in 4 different doctor's offices! Tuesday we had two appointments...first we met with Dr. Sanders, a Pediatric GI. We were meeting with her to discuss his reflux, make sure he was on the right medication, right dosage, formula, solids, etc... She said that we were on the right track. We will continue the Prevacid twice a day and she also said to increase his solids to 3 meals a day. She asked how much formula he was drinking and I told her he had been eating 8 oz per feeding. She suggested getting that down to 6 oz. I just laughed and thought okay YOU take the bottle out of his mouth before he's done!!

Next we met with Dr. Seremitis, pediatric urologist. If you don't know, Bo was born with something called hypospadius (you can google it if you want more details)...because of this he wasn't able to be circumcised at birth so we are having to do it when he turns 6 months. They wait until 6 months because they have to put him to sleep. There is also some "curvature" that they may have to go in and fix. We scheduled his surgery for August 29th. It sounds like a pretty simple procedure, should take an hour, possibly 2 if they need to fix the hypospadius, but the urologist feels it's pretty minor and won't need fixing. I hate he's having to have this done, but his daddy said absolutely, positively we will have it fixed! I know he'll thank us later.

Thursday we go for his 4 month shots and Friday we go to have his head evaluated to see if he is going to require a band/helmet. I will posts updates on those appointments later.
