We have a good report for everyone...Bo's surgery went great! Honestly, I think it was harder on mommy and daddy than Bo. He went back at 9:00am and we were home by 1:00pm. They did not have to do the hypospadias repair, which was a huge relief. They did however have to correct the curvature. He was given a caudal, which is a form of epidural, they did this so they didn't have to put him under so far and was able to wake up much sooner. Surgery lasted about 90 minutes. He was in recovery for about 15 minutes and as soon as he started to open his eyes they brought him to Jarrod and I in the post-op area, where I was able to give him a bottle and they monitored his heart rate and blood pressure. After about 45 minutes we were able to go home. The only time he really got fussy was when the epidural was starting to wear off. Other than that he has done great. Yesterday we spent most of the day with lots of snuggling and rocking! We are still giving pain meds every 4 hours and hope to stop that tomorrow. He has been such a trooper!
Thank you so much for all of the phone calls and emails. The night before Jarrod and I were both very anxious and greatly appreciated everyone calling and emailing to let us know that they would be thinking of us and Bo. Last night when I checked my email I had 30 emails from friends checking on him. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. Bo even got a few "Get Well" gifts, thank you all so much!
A 1st surgery wouldn't be complete without pictures...

Dad-what's up with this peach colored gown??
An emotional daddy having a very hard time.
"They're going to be doing WHAT???"
"Please don't make me go."
Starting to wake up.
A bottle and a lovie make it all better!
