Our baby turns 4!!!

Well it happened, as much as I didn’t want it to happen it did…my baby turned 4!!!  I have had a really hard time with this birthday.  The other night I literally started crying to Jarrod because all I can think about is how after this year he’s only got one year of preschool left and then it’s off to kindergarten which means…every day, all day (well til 3:30), school buses (still not sure about that one), homework, etc…  Once they start kindergarten there’s no turning back.  One thing this has made me realize is that these days of having him home with me, even when it’s the hardest of hard days, they won’t be here much longer and I’m going to miss them so much!!

Anyway, yesterday Bo was a VERY popular little man…we, or should I say he had phone calls, emails, text messages from friends and family, “real mail” which he loves getting, presents, you name it!  He had such a fun day!!!  We started yesterday morning off with a birthday breakfast which consisted of sprinkle pancakes topped with syrup and whip cream!!!  When he came downstairs we had decorations and his gifts all ready for him.

For the past few weeks I have been racking my brain about what to get him.  We just had Christmas and he just had a birthday party…the kid doesn’t need anything else, but we had to do something.  Well, ever since Christmas his favorite movie has been Finding Nemo, I recorded it during the holidays and we have watched it every single day during quiet time!!!  He loves it and he’s been talking about wanting a fish.  For as long as I can remember anytime we have ever walked into Petsmart he would immediately run to see the fish.  So after a lot of talking to daddy about it we decided to get our little man a fish.  We got him a red betta fish and he LOVES it, he even named it Bo Fish!  He is constantly checking on it, talking to it, etc…  As if we needed to add something to my list of things to take care of, but that’s what mamas do when it’s for their babies!!  Jarrod had to leave this morning to go out of town for work and Bo wanted him to “hug” Bo the fish goodbye!  He also got a new Cars wii game and the actual Finding Nemo dvd, so mommy doesn’t have to fast forward through commercials anymore!!

Saturday afternoon we had another birthday party for our friends James and after that we headed out to dinner for pizza and back home for cake.  He had such a fun birthday and Jarrod and I, absolutely loved getting to just spend the day with our little man playing games, watching movies, and having fun.  I would say this birthday was definitely a success, we have one very happy little boy!

Rev up your engines!!!

So technically our baby isn’t 4 yet, I’m going to stretch that out as long as I can, well at least until next Saturday!!  Every year Jarrod always goes out of town the weekend of Bo’s birthday, it’s always been that way since Bo was born.  So we decided to move his party to the weekend before.  I have to say it totally snuck up on me with the holidays.  I knew where we were having it, I knew when, and I knew it would be a racecar theme, but that’s all I had.  When we got back from MS after Christmas I started looking up ideas and realized I had about two weeks to get things ordered, made, delivered, etc…  He was so excited about his party.  All last week whoever would bring him out to carpool would say “he’s so sweet, he invited me to his party”.  I didn’t know who may show up haha!

It was wonderful we had a great turn out we had 17 kids, who all had a blast.  The parents kept commenting on what a great place it is.  We had it at a place called Catch Air, which is an indoor play place.  Very clean, unique, and lots of fun!  I started getting sick last week and luckily the worst of it held off til Saturday afternoon.  Now I can rest!    I don’t have a ton of pictures right now because I was so busy running around, talking to all of the parents and getting things ready. I had my uncle bring his camera so when I get those pictures I’ll post them too!  Happy Birthday sweet boy!!!

A Christmas we’ll never forget!!

Well I am SO behind on updating this blog.  I promise in the new year I will do better, it’s one of my resolutions :)  We’ve had SO much going on the past 6 months, but I love this blog it’s my life, literally, so I really hope to do better!

So we got to enjoy Christmas in MS this year, I guess really that’s this past year huh?  Anywho…it turned out to be quite a trip!  We went over the Friday before Christmas and even on the way over I felt like something just wasn’t right with Charlotte, but I just blamed it on teething. She was very fussy and didn’t eat much.  On Christmas day, my brother went to get her up from her name and she was covered in vomit.  Well at that time I figured it was her reflux because she had just eaten before we put her down.  The next day we got a phone call from my brother asking if anyone had gotten sick because he had been sick all night.  Again, didn’t see where this was headed!!  I started feeling a little off on Monday, but couldn’t figure out what was going on and Charlotte was sleeping a lot!!  Late Tuesday afternoon Charlotte got sick again and I knew she definitely had some kind of virus.  Shortly after she got sick my mom started getting sick.  That night around 10:30 it hit me.  It was HORRIBLE!!!!  Next thing I know Jarrod is coming to get me at 4:30am to take Charlotte because he was feeling bad, so he got knocked out!  Fast forward a few more hours to about 9:00am and next up was Bo!  So out of 6 people in the house 5 of us were so, so, so sick.  Somehow my dad got lucky, he complained of not feeling well, but he never actually got hit with the stomach virus.  It was a rough virus, it took a good 5 days to finally feel normal again.  So needless to say that was a Christmas we’ll never forget.

On another note it was baby girl’s First Christmas and it was so much fun, I’m just glad we got through Christmas day before getting sick.  Bo had an absolute BLAST!!!  This was the first year he was actually requesting gifts from Santa and we saved his “big” gift for the very end.  It was priceless seeing him open it!  It technically wasn’t the biggest gift, but it was the one he wanted the most!  Between Santa, aunts, uncles, and grandparents we really should have rented a Uhaul, you should have seen us trying to get everything back.  It was a wonderful trip, other than getting sick, but I must say…if you are going to get sick, I’m talking deathly sick like we all were there’s no better place than at home with your mom!!  I have NO idea what we would have done without her.  She was the first to get sick so she had a few hours on us, she started to feel better first and bless her for taking the kids so I could get some sleep when Charlotte would sleep.  My sweet mom, took care of Bo as he got sick.  He was getting sick about once an hour and he layed on the couch and Bebe would help him each time with the trash can, keep a cold rag on him, and change out his movies, and give him LOTS of TLC.  Reminds me so much of her doing that for me when I was little.  There’s nothing better than seeing your kids get the same treatment.  THANK YOU MOM!!!!!
