It’s that time of year…busy, busy, busy! All I can think is just wait til the holidays! I was looking at our calendar the other day and told Jarrod we have something every weekend between now and Thanksgiving and I’m sure it will be the same between November and January, it always is!
A quick update on Charlotte…I received a phone call from the pediatrician, herself last week which took me a little by surprise, you hardly ever actually talk to the doctor. She was calling to tell me that Charlotte’s lab work had come back (she had been fighting what we thought was a stomach virus), turns out she had salmonella!!!! I know the first thing everyone asks is how in the world did she get that??? It was more than likely cross contamination at the house. It could have been I was handling raw chicken and some of it splashed up on her bottles. It’s a little strange because I HATE raw chicken so when I do have it in the kitchen I am so, so careful!!!! It could have come from somewhere outside of the house but she had only been to the nursery at MOPS and the dr’s office that Wednesday for shots. It could have come from either of those places I guess. She is FINALLY doing better!!! It has been 2 1/2 weeks! Her stomach is still sensitive so we are backing off of cereal and just giving her, her bottles. It was a long 2 weeks in the Lawson house, but I’m SO thankful she didn’t have to be hospitalized like a lot of children do. Of course in the middle of all this she also had her first ear infection and chest congestion so we were also doing breathing treatments 3 times a day. If you haven’t ever done those with a 4 month old you’re missing out!!! It’s pure torture for everyone within a 5 mile radius!!!! Poor baby has been through a lot lately! It’s had an impact on everyone…NO ONE has been sleeping in our house. Every night last week I was up with her for at least 4-5 hours!! Her crying wakes up Bo who Jarrod then has to get back into bed, it’s been awful! I was almost in tears the other night telling Jarrod I can’t keep doing this!!!! The past two nights have been good so I’m hoping that maybe we’ve turned the corner!
She’s still a happy girl though, even when she doesn’t feel good!! Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks!
already into brother’s toys!
For Jarrod’s birthday I had pictures made and framed for him to put in his office at work. I’ve been meaning to try and get some pics of it so here is what I could get, not great but it works!
only a boy would get underneath a storage box to play
Mama got crafty the other weekend…I saw these online and decided to copy and make them myself! I think they turned out super cute. I made it all (except the containers obviously) it’s all unfinished wood items like candle sticks, bases, knobs, letters found at a craft store that I primed, painted, and glued together! At Christmas I plan to just change the ribbon and use the letters JOY!
This is the only time anyone has gotten any sleep the past week!
First bath together! Bo had been asking for Charlee to get in the bath with him so I went ahead and did it! To me it’s still easier to put her in her little tub on the counter and him in our big tub because he plays while I bathe her, but they had fun and she loved it!
