28 weeks

Well we’re getting there…

How far along: 28 weeks

Size of baby: About 2.5-3 pounds and about 14 to 15 inches long…this came off of a website not my doctor

Weight Gain:  Not going to happen!  I will say I can still see my feet, well I have to lean over a tad but they’re there!!!

Gender:  ?????

Movement: Yep, especially around 11:00pm…guess we need to get prepared for this to be our awake time!  Some of the kicks and punches have actually been painful which makes me realize just how big our peanut is getting

Sleep: Ahhhh, yes I sort of remember what this is like.  I still think this is God’s way of getting us ready for what’s to come with a newborn.  Still up about every 2-3 hours to go to the bathroom.  Heartburn is still giving me fits, have to sleep sitting up at times…I did get a prescription for Nexium today so I’m really hoping this helps.  Then what’s really weird is I’ll get up for something and then just can’t go back to sleep, I’m wide awake. OR…I can go back to sleep but baby won’t stop moving!!  Either way…I’m not getting much sleep these days!

What I miss:  my energy

Cravings: Still milk, I love it.  I’m constantly asking Jarrod to pick up milk on the way home from work.  He always responds with “I just bought milk”!  And of course anything sweet…it’s ridiculous.  I have never in my life wanted these many sweets.  Still love fruit and veggies though so I’d like to think that offsets all the sweets I’ve been eating.

Dr. updates: All looks good.  BP today was 114/60 something so doctor was very pleased!  This is the time when my bp started to rise with Bo.  I think one reason it didn’t raise a red flag then was because technically it wasn’t that high, however I am someone who typically has lower blood pressure so for me it was high.  I’m now having my dr appointments every two weeks so that makes me feel a little better.  And again…I know the signs and we have a bp monitor at home so when I do start feeling bad I always go check it.

Bo:  STILL not interested!  It’s going to be interesting that’s all I can say!

Energy Level: UGH!!!  Well I’m in the third trimester which everyone knows is the longest, most uncomfortable and the time of the least amount of energy.  It’s frustrating because not long ago I was able to run all over the place and get things done.  Now I have slowed down tremendously.  Bo is at my parents this week so I’m really hoping to get rest and knock out a lot of projects I have on my to do list!

Hormonal:  So my last update a month ago I was able to say I hadn’t been that hormonal.  Well guess what…that’s changed!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s not so much a mean hormonal, okay maybe sometimes it is…it’s more of a crying hormonal.  Like I said Bo is at my parents this week…God love them for taking him because I was in much need of a break!!  But I had the hardest time letting him go.  We met them in Tuscaloosa yesterday to do the “drop off”.  Saturday night after putting him to bed I cried and cried.  Then yesterday as we were leaving I just sobbed.  I know in my head it’s all hormonal so I am able to laugh a little, but it's crazy!!  There have been a few times Jarrod has kindly asked me to please hang a green flag outside if his wife is home or a red flag if it’s dragon lady…he says it’s just much easier to prepare when he has a heads up!!  Oh and I definitely think I’ve hit the “nesting” stage…I have the longest lists of projects and things to get done which I want them all done by the first of May since I’ll be 36 weeks then and NOT in the mood to be doing things at the house.  My poor husband..he just smiles and goes along with it.  Thank you God for giving me a kind, patient husband!!!

All in all things are moving along great.  We only have about 10-11 weeks before we get to meet our precious baby!
