It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted what’s been going on in our world! Partly because between chasing Bo, being pregnant, laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc…I’m wiped out at the end of the day. It also doesn’t help that Bo is no longer taking naps! Yep, you read that correctly no more naps for Bo which means NO alone time for mom. It makes for a very long day!! We have “quiet time” which if you know Bo then you know how well that goes. Lately I’ve needed to rest too so I put him in our bed with me and usually put on a movie. I hate it because he is now watching way too much tv, but I also feel like I’m at the point of just doing what works. I do have time while he’s at school a few hours Mon, Wed, and Fri, but I’m noticing that I don’t have the energy to do what I usually do. Used to I’d go to the gym, run errands, clean house, do laundry all while he was gone. Now I have the energy to maybe do half of what I used to do. I’ve also gotten to experience the return of morning sickness, ugh!!! Personally I think the first 15 weeks were sufficient, but apparently my body thinks otherwise. It’s not every day, but when it hits I feel awful. I did not have this with Bo so I’m a little surprised by it.
One thing I’ve been doing, which I think I will be so glad I did is freezer cooking. I’ve been cooking like crazy and stocking our freezer so towards the end of pregnancy when I’m even more tired than I am now we have dinner. I still have a family to feed and take care of. I’ve made a ton of homemade spaghetti sauce, a few casseroles, taco meat, stuffing for stuffed peppers, muffins, chili, soup, homemade sloppy joe meat, and a few other things. I’m hoping to keep this up even just doing a few things each week. I’d love to have stuff to carry over for when baby comes. This is when I really wish I had a food saver…I’ve been hinting for a few years now that I want one but no one has seemed to pick up on that…hint, hint to my sweet husband!! When Bo was born, while my mom was visiting she completely stocked our freezer which was fabulous, but this time we’re going to need more help especially with Bo!
I’m very excited that next week Bo will be spending it in MS with my parents. Mom is off for spring break and instead of them coming here we thought it would be more helpful for him to go stay with them. There are tons of things I need to get done here at the house and I just can’t do it when he’s here. I’m going to take advantage of this time and try to knock out errands I need to run, cooking some more, and hopefully pulling out some baby things like going through Bo’s newborn clothes to see what we may can use again regardless of if it’s a boy or girl. Things that I know in another month or so I’m not going to want to do. A BIG thank you to my parents, you guys are the best!! Bo has been talking about going to see Pop and Bebe and my mom has all sorts of things planned for them to do. He’ll get the attention he deserves, they get to spend time with their grandson, and I get to rest a win-win for everyone!! I will miss him soooo much though!
When we first started quiet time, sometimes he’d fall asleep, but this quickly went away!
He loves to help “clean”. I was cooking dinner one night and looked up to see he had unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper to go get a bug!!
One day last week Bo took a spill at the preschool. This is actually carpet burn, but if you know preschool carpet it’s more like a brillo pad!!
For some reason he’s really gotten interested in golf! I bought him the Gator golf toy at a consignment sale and he loves it!
This was a new one…last night I walked in and he was lining up his cars and “crashing” them into his dinosaur! Such a boy!!!
Poor dinosaur notice all the cars! Guess dino won!
